The Garden Blogs list ("More garden blogs than you have time to read") got five new entries today -- from northwestern Maine, Harrisburg, Pa., Sacramento, Calif., Andalucia, Spain, and Hereford, England.
They're all overdue for an airing, casualties of hurricane blogging and the microbes that took me down this week.
Reading them takes me into the gardens of people who love them, who talk hopefully about what they're trying to do and what nature does. Some share with us what they know (plant shallots now, it's easy!). They post photos of their successes, their processes and what they see from where they are.
I'm honored to be hosting them, so it makes me sad that I left them hanging, not knowing if I was snubbing them, some for a couple of weeks.
They deserve trumpets and quiet applause.
