The ex-Mac convert has been duly slashed point by point for mindless frippery at Phantasmablogia.
Your links are almost invariably excellent but this one was a bum steer as the fellow knew little to nothing of Macs and appeared to be ranting just for the sake of a firefight.

Alan, I had forgotten how emotional these loyalties are.
Since he had switched to a Mac, it's understandable that he knows "little to nothing" of them. He bought into the marketing cool of switching, but he's just not wired that way.
He's saying he's homesick and you're upset that he doesn't appreciate the beautiful place you call home. Buyer's remorse just isn't rational.
