Lennon Lives by Jeff Giles in Newsweek anticipates the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's death on Dec. 8.

Out there on the wires, Mark David Chapman, Lennon's murderer, has all the headlines this week. He didn't want to be a nobody, and he's on Dateline celebrating the 25th anniversary of him becoming a somebody by killing John Lennon.

John Lennon's Solo Catalogue to be Available in Digital Format for the First Time:

London, UK, 11/14/2005 - First digital release will be the definitive Greatest Hits double album "Working Class Hero" on November 7, followed by his complete solo catalogue on Dec 5....

For the first time ever, the whole of John Lennon's solo catalogue will be available for exclusive digital access, starting with the new definitive greatest hits album "Working Class Hero", which was released on CD in the UK and US in October and which will be available to purchase in download form beginning November 7.

The entire Lennon solo catalogue will then be made available digitally beginning December 5th (December 6th in the US) on a variety of digital music services....

When I was a kid, teachers and other grownups trying to make conversation would ask if I were related to the The Lennon Sisters, a saccharine singing quartet that delighted the blue-haired set on the Lawrence Welk TV variety show from 1955 to 1968.

When the Beatles arrived and John was named Lennon, I finally got to shake them off, answering the "Are you related...?" question with, "No, John Lennon."

Ever since, I've liked my name.
