Art call: Get inspired and sign up for next month's Providence Street Painting Festival

The Providence Street Painting Festival is Sept. 27. The "street" is the outdoor Bank of America Skating Center downtown.

Applications are available now. I've been seeing lots of hits on a preview of last year's festival, with links to 3-D street artists, so folks must be googling around for inspiration.

Here are photos of winning works from 2007 and from 2006, an outstanding year.

$3,000 in prizes await; there is no entrance fee, but you do need to show them you've painted a street before, so get crackin'. Entry deadline is Sept. 19.
