I'm off for a few days to plant and to set up a new computer, with the old one gasping alongside. A home network makes this easier than it used to be. But I'm in keyboard confusion, two of everything right now.
Today John Lennon: The New York Years opens at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex NYC. Here's Yoko One, 76, at the press conference announcing the exhibit.

In 2005, David Herskovits of Paper Magazine interviewed Bob Gruen, a photographer whose book, John Lennon: the New York Years, includes 150 photos, some of which are on his Web site. (He has also contributed some for this exhibit.)

John Lennon's New York Years Remembered:
DH: Do you have a personal favorite photo from the book?BG: The book represents a 150 of my favorites, but if I had to pick one, it's probably the Statue of Liberty picture because John represents for a lot of people a kind of personal freedom in the same way that the Statue of Liberty does. And I'm kind of proud of that one also because it was a photo session situation and I thought up [the concept] and he agreed with me.
