During the 2008 Patriots season, we gathered recipes that are good to serve people who are watching TV in comfortable chairs, snacks for the nervous and pumped.

Tonight, the Pats play their first preseason game on TV against the Philadelphia Eagles (home now to Ellis Hobbs and Asante Samuels) at 7 7:30 p.m. on Fox.

Tailgating potential is dubious: They're playing at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. But we've pulled out and dusted off those 2008 recipes in case you want to have a football party at your place tonight.

I've tweaked that blog's templates a bit. Our blogs are chronological, which is pretty useless 18 months after Super Bowl 2008, so I've made an index of just the essential facts: An alphabetical list of recipes and, to their right, links that filter recipes by categories such as "chicken wings." Photos are tweaks to come.

Here it is: Projo Football Food & Spirits alphabetical index

Welcome back, Tom. Go Pats.
