Food art isn't always beautiful, especially when the medium is meat

The weird meat above is from Web Urbanist's Bento, Chocolate, and Jesus: 10 Intriguing Examples of Food Art. Oddly, it gathers far more than 10 examples.


It's not all this weird. Tracking a source there leads to these charming collages: "Famous scenes from Walt Disney's classic film Snow White and the Seven Dwarves have been recreated with apples by food artist Prudence Staite from Food Is Art.There's a portrait of Snow White done entirely in apples." The wicked witch, below, is smashing, and the dwarves are pretty cool, too.

Okay, some of it's really weird. There was a gallery exhibition in New York 2008 called Meat After Meat Joy that included an homage Merit Oppenheim's surrealist fur cup and saucer. It was done in bacon:
