THE YARDBIRDS: The Live Saga 1963-1967
Live tracks from 1963-1967. Very good soundboard.
The most important tracks by far are the first eight, taken from a Swedish show in 1967, with Jimmy Page on guitar. These cuts, more than almost anything the Page lineup recorded in the studio, comprise the best evidence of how well Jimmy and the group could play at their best, when they were unencumbered by unsympathetic producers and material. The sound quality is very good, and the performances are good to excellent, including reprises of several of their biggest hits, the otherwise unavailable Dylan cover "Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine," and an extended psychedelic version of "I'm A Man" with violin-guitar bowing by Page.
